Junior records to a folder on your computer. Settings, under Storage, shows the path and gives you Open Folder to go straight there.

Two things happen to what is in it:

  • It uploads. Once a call reaches Junior it is available everywhere: your laptop, your phone, the web.
  • It is cleaned up after seven days. Junior removes local recordings older than that, sweeping every few hours. The uploaded call is unaffected; only the local copy goes.

Why that matters

For a week after a call, there is a second copy on your machine. If something has gone wrong with an upload and the call never appeared in Junior, the audio may still be sitting in that folder, which is worth checking before concluding a recording is lost.

After seven days, the copy in Junior is the only copy.

Do not treat this folder as an archive. It empties itself, and it is not backed up by Junior. If you need a permanent copy of a specific call's audio, take it within the week.

Questions

Can I change where recordings are saved?

Settings shows you the folder rather than letting you pick a new one. If the drive it lives on is short of space, that is worth raising with support rather than moving the folder yourself.

A call never appeared in Junior. Is the audio recoverable?

Possibly, if it was within the last week. Open the folder from Settings and look for a file matching the time of the call. If it is there, contact support with it. Do not delete anything first.

How much disk space does this use?

An hour of audio is not large, but a heavy week of interviews adds up. The seven-day cleanup is what stops it growing without limit, so it generally looks after itself.

Can I delete the contents myself?

Anything already uploaded, yes. The call in Junior is unaffected. Do not delete anything that has not uploaded yet, because that is the only copy. Check Saved Calls (⌘3) for a queue before clearing anything out.

How long does Junior keep my calls on its side?

That is set by your firm's agreement rather than by the app, so it is not something this page can answer. Ask whoever owns Junior at your firm. The seven days above refers only to the local copy on your own machine.
