Useful when a recording started early or ran on after everyone left. The transcript then includes several minutes of nothing, which drags the summary around with it.
- Open the call and choose Trim audio.
- Drag the handle at the start or the end. Junior tells you plainly: "Trim the start or end: drag edge handles".
- Check it with Play Audio. Speeds of
1x,1.5xand2xare available, and Reset puts the handles back. - Press Trim & reprocess.
Junior confirms with "Audio trim started. Junior will reprocess this call." and the call goes back through processing.
The transcript, summary and takeaways are all produced again from the trimmed audio, so anything you had already read will change. What stays untouched is your notes.
Questions
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
No. Start and end only. If something in the middle must not be in the record, trimming is not the tool; take it up with whoever owns compliance at your firm.
How short can I trim a call?
Not below a minute. The same minimum that applies to recording applies here, because the rest of the processing needs something to work with.
