Join a call in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Cisco Webex, in the app or in a browser tab, and a small prompt appears offering to record it.

The prompt shows which platform it spotted and how long until the meeting starts, counting down to Now and then Live now.
What counts as a meeting
A visible meeting window is not enough. Junior waits until your microphone is actually in use before it treats something as a meeting. Otherwise sitting in a Zoom waiting room, or leaving yesterday's Teams window open, would prompt you constantly. So the prompt arrives a moment after you genuinely join, not when the window appears.
Turning it off
Settings, under Recording: the Notifications toggle covers both these prompts and calendar reminders. Turning it off leaves Junior working exactly as before. You start recordings yourself.
Questions
Junior did not notice my meeting.
Three usual reasons. Meeting Detection permission is not granted: it is separate from microphone and system audio, and macOS never prompts for it. You are on Windows, where detection is not available. Or the platform is not one of the four Junior recognises. Either way, start the recording yourself; nothing else is affected.
Does this mean Junior can read my screen?
No. It sees which application or browser tab is in front, plus whether your microphone is in use. That is enough to tell that you are in a Zoom call and not enough to tell what anyone is saying or showing. Nothing is captured until you press record.
The prompt appeared for a call I did not want recorded.
Press Later and nothing happens. The prompt is an offer, never an automatic start. Junior does not begin recording on its own under any circumstances.
It offered to stop and save while my call was still going.
Junior thought the meeting had ended, usually because the window closed or the microphone went quiet for a while. Press Keep Recording and it carries on. Nothing is lost either way.
Junior said the meeting is restricted and will not be recorded.
Your firm has asked Junior to refuse to record meetings whose titles are marked a certain way, and this one matched. It is a deliberate policy at your firm rather than a fault. If a meeting is caught wrongly, the title is what triggered it, and whoever set the policy internally can explain the rule.
