Junior writes audio to your computer as it records. Losing connection does not interrupt that, and it does not shorten or corrupt what you end up with.

What you loseWhat happens
The live transcriptStops updating. Header shows Reconnecting (attempt 2)..., then resumes
UploadingDeferred. Junior keeps the audio locally and sends it when you are back
Notes syncingDeferred. Notes are written to disk first, then synced
The audio recordingNothing. It carries on

Junior also spills periodic backup chunks of the recording to disk if an upload attempt fails mid-call, so a long interview on a bad connection has more than one safety net.

When you get back

The live transcript reconnects on its own. If it does not, the banner has a Retry. Uploads resume without you doing anything.

The one case that needs you is a session that could not be refreshed. Junior shows Reconnect to keep syncing and explains: "Recordings will keep saving locally, but syncing and uploads need you to reconnect or sign in again." Take Try again, or sign in again if it asks.

Questions

My wi-fi dropped mid-interview. Should I stop and restart?

No. That would cost you the gap between stopping and restarting, for no benefit. The recording is not affected by the network. Carry on and let the transcript catch up.

The transcript went blank after a disconnection.

The panel shows what has been transcribed, so a long outage leaves a gap. The audio for that period is still recorded, and the final transcript is produced from the audio afterwards, so the gap appears in the live view only, not in the finished call.

Can I record with no connection at all?

Yes. You get no live transcript and nothing uploads until you reconnect, but the recording itself works normally. Leave Junior open when you get back online so the upload can finish.

Will I lose notes I typed while offline?

No. Notes go to your computer first and sync afterwards. If you see "Couldn't save notes. Check your connection and try again.", what you typed is safe locally and will go up when the connection returns.

My laptop slept rather than just losing connection.

Different situation, and it does cost you audio. Junior pauses when your display sleeps and asks whether to continue on wake. See ending a recording.
