All six do the same thing. The calendar and meeting-detection routes additionally file the call against that meeting, which saves you naming it afterwards.
What happens next
Recording begins immediately. Once it is running, set the Project and the Call type if they are not already right, and tell everyone on the call that you are recording.
If your firm has the consent prompt turned on, Junior asks you to confirm first: see getting consent before you record.
Recordings must run for at least a minute. Junior will not let you finish a shorter one. It offers to keep recording instead.
Questions
Does it matter which way I start a recording?
Only for what gets filled in for you. Starting from a calendar meeting or a detected meeting attaches the call to that meeting, so its name and often its project are set. Starting from the sidebar or the keyboard gives you a blank call you name yourself. The audio is identical.
⌘⇧R does nothing.
Something else has claimed it, most often a screen-recording tool or a meeting app. Junior registers it globally, so a conflict means whichever app registered first wins. Use the tray icon or the sidebar instead, and free the shortcut up in the other app if you want it back.
Can I record a meeting without joining it?
Yes. That is what Record does on a calendar entry, as opposed to Join & Record. Junior captures your system audio, so if you are already in the call through another window it does not need to open anything. If you are not in the call at all, it will record silence.
I started recording ten minutes into the call.
Junior only has what it captured, so the first ten minutes are not recoverable. Type what you remember into the notes panel while it is fresh. Notes are saved with the call and appear alongside the transcript.
Junior says the recording didn't start.
Nothing is being captured, and Junior tells you so rather than letting you believe otherwise. If it offers Try again, take it. If it points you at audio settings and permissions, that is the cause. Check microphone and system audio permission.
